This webinar will provide an insight on how ESI's
CFD/Multiphysics software, ACE+ Suite, can be used to
optimize a microfluidic device followed by LIVE DEMO.
Description:
Lab-on-a-chip, BioMEMS devices are being increasingly used in
applications such as point-of-care diagnostics, drug delivery,
drug discovery, and tissue engineering. These miniature
devices are complex and usually involve multiple steps such as
sample preparation, pumping, dispensing, detection, etc.
Optimizing each of these steps requires understanding the
underlying phenomena such as surface tension, electrokinetics
(DEP, electroosmosis, electrophoresis, and electrowetting),
fluid-structure interaction and biochemical & electrochemical
reactions.
CFD/Multiphysics simulation tools can play a pivotal role in
understanding the various complex phenomena leading to faster
robust cost-efficient design and optimization of these
devices.
