AVL started with this first web based meshing service on http://meshing.avl.com in December 2002 and the success was outstanding. The unrivalled fast mesh generation and the easy process of purchase convinced the CAE specialists. No matter how many cells - a 48 hour response time is guaranteed.

The field of application is nearly unlimited, and the hybrid meshes generated are of high quality. eFAME of course benefits from AVL FAME development work. Meshes, generated with the latest version, FAME Advanced Hybrid, are characterized by wall layers and a high portion of hexahedral elements, approx. 85%. Just in transition layers from coarse to fine (and vice versa) tetrahedral and pyramidal elements are used. The results are very efficient meshes with a comparable low number of elements – an important benefit for the solver calculation time, which directly correspond to the number of elements. Mesh efficiency is further supported by the auto feature size recognition capability, which identifies sharp edges and strong curvatures and automatically refines the mesh in those areas.
