ENGYS and Dynaflow Research Group have agreed to form a strategic alliance focused on the Oil & Gas industry worldwide, seeking to promote and deliver high-end CAE products and services built around Open Source technologies. Dynaflow’s extensive expertise in all aspects of design and analysis of petro-chemical applications will lead to the definition and development of new advanced simulation tools powered by HELYX®, ENGYS’ own CFD product and support service based on the Open Source library OPENFOAM®.
In order to mark the beginning of this partnership, a new series of training courses will be organised from 2013 at Dynaflow’s dedicated facilities in the Netherlands. The courses are aimed at the wider engineering community, and especially those interested in exploring the many advantages of using Open Source software for engineering applications. ENGYS will deliver with the help of Dynaflow dedicated lectures and workshops on the subjects of CFD and multi-disciplinary optimisation, including practical use of the OPENFOAM® library, DAKOTA and Helyx-OS (an Open Source dedicated GUI for OPENFOAM® developed and released by ENGYS).
Francisco Campos, Director and Operations Manager at Engys, said: “We are very excited about the prospects of working with Dynaflow Research Group to strengthen the position of both companies in the Oil & Gas sector and other potential markets, delivering all the inherent benefits of Open Source software in the form of highly specialised and cost-effective CAE products and services.”
