CEI will demonstrate record-setting distributed rendering technologies and the latest EnSight extreme visualization features in the Linux Networx booth (#420) at the 45th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit next week in Reno, Nev.
On display for the first time at an AIAA show will be the distributed rendering software EnSight DR, the first commercial visualization application that brings the power of parallel processing to the desktop.
CEI will also demonstrate the latest EnSight features, including faster and higher-quality transparency, video file playback as a texture, and “lookmarks” that provide a thumbnail reminder of saved views.
Transparency has been greatly enhanced in EnSight 8.2.2 and the EnLiten free geometry viewer by implementing a new multi-pass “onion-peel” algorithm. The new algorithm replaces the per-polygon sort method with a per-pixel fragment program, resulting in greater image quality and faster generation of scenes that include transparency.
EnSight can now use video files as textures applied to a model. Video clips are time-synched to the transient data in EnSight, enabling tests or experiments captured on video to be visualized in conjunction with simulation data.
New “lookmarks” in EnSight save views as thumbnails that can be used as visual cues, enabling users to easily return to and navigate among different views of their data.
Other new features on display at the AIAA show include pan and zoom capabilities in the EnVideo free animation viewer, and a range of interface improvements.
Talk with the VP
Darin McKinnis, CEI’s vice president of marketing and sales, will be on hand in the Linux Networx booth to discuss your simulation needs, take suggestions, and provide a glimpse into the future. AIAA attendees can stop by the booth or request a one-on-one meeting with Darin at: http://www.ensight.com/45th-aiaa-aerospace-sciences-meeting-exhibit.html
