The CFD Revolution Continues: FieldView 13 Drives Even Faster, More Productive Post-Processing, Data Management & Visualization
Rutherford, N.J. (Nov. 15, 2011) – Released just four months ago, FieldView 13 from Intelligent Light delivered a revolutionary new approach to faster, more productive CFD post-processing, data management, and visualization. With the 13.1 point release, Intelligent Light continues to build even more performance into their industry-leading software and adds a new direct reader for OpenFOAM data.
“Everything is faster with FieldView 13,” says Dr. Matthew M. Godo, FieldView product manager. “Our new development platform enables us to quickly and continuously improve the product, which in turn allows our users to benefit almost immediately from every leap we’re taking in speed and performance. FieldView 13 delivers higher productivity and unprecedented speed at every step in the CFD workflow.”
Manage transient data 4-7X faster
FieldView can recognize a series of XDB files, each containing a single timestep, as a transient sequence. This cuts the time to sweep a transient XDB series by a factor of 4 to 7X.
Increase dataset sampling and probing speeds by up to 200X
FieldView exploits the latest in high performance computing, maximizing available memory resources, Point probing, dataset sampling, streamline and streakline calculation, and automated streamline seeding are just some of the FieldView features that run dramatically faster. In a case containing 100M cells for an XDB dataset sampling operation run on a system with 32GB RAM, over 300,000 probes per second were achieved at full optimization, delivering a nearly 200X speedup factor.
New direct reader for OpenFOAM
FieldView’s new direct reader for OpenFOAM data can read either reconstructed or decomposed (partitioned) data with no need to repartition or export the data. Other standard FieldView features like streamline wall marking and optimization for fast and accurate interpolation of standard cell types are included. Full support for automation for batch operation with OpenFOAM results is provided.
