Otterfing, Germany. 20 November 2001. PCA Engineers Limited (PCA) and CFX, a division of AEA Technology plc (LSE: AAT), have today signed an Alliance Agreement. The purpose of this Agreement is to formalise the excellent working relationship between both partners by combining CFX’s market leader portfolio of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for turbomachinery analysis with PCA’s industry-leading consultancy expertise in turbomachinery design.

This Alliance will provide engineers and designers working in the area of turbomachinery design, analysis and/or optimisation with a complete portfolio of compatible software products and associated services, from a single source, in order to minimise time to market turbomachinery product design or operational downtime timescales.

According to Dr.-Ing. Georg Scheuerer, CFX European Operations Director: “This Alliance will link both companies’ aspirations in turbomachinery design and analysis consultancy, turbomachinery design software and the development of advanced systems such as unsteady aero-mechanical software”.
