Third International CFD Conference
CFD 2003: COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS TECHNOLOGY IN SHIP HYDRODYNAMICS
6 -7 February 2003, London, UK
We are pleased to send you details of the 3rd International 'Computational Fluid Dynamics in Ship Hydrodynamics' Conference (CFD2003) being organised by The Royal Institution of Naval Architects on behalf of Riviera Maritime Media Ltd. The conference is being held at the institution's headquarters in London, England.
Our committee consists of experts in this field: Prof Spyros Kinnas, University of Texas at Austin; Prof Volker Bertram, TU Hamburg-Harburg; Rune Garen, Rolls-Royce Marine AS; and Dr-Ing. Moustafa Maksoud, SVA Potsdam Model Basin. So rest assured that this will be a very high quality event.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is becoming widely accepted as a method to solve complex fluid calculations in conventional and unconventional ship designs. The International CFD Conference and associated workshops offer delegates the opportunity to hear from and meet the leading experts in this field from around the world.
CFD 2003 will focus on hull hydrodynamics, CFD applied to propellers and other types of propulsor, and to hull/propulsor interaction. Among the key issues discussed will be the practicalities, costs and problems associated with CFD; the various methods available; software integration; and interpretation of results.
The preliminary list of conference topics includes: · dynamic sinkage and trim · SWATH resistance · hull optimisation · trimaran hydrodynamics · hydrodynamics modelling · optimal ship design · free surface flow · twin-hull ferry · high Reynolds number flows · large-eddy simulation · planing craft attitude · RANSE simulations · surface-piercing propellers.
The conference programme includes an opportunity for delegates to attend 'software workshops'. These will include interactive demonstrations of CFD software for the marine industry from software vendors, developers and scientists.
Please visit www.rivieramm.com/cfd if you would like to receive a full programme brochure, obtain details about presenting a software workshop or book your delegate place on-line through our secure server.
