The International Conferences on Gas-Liquid and Gas-Liquid-Solid Reactor Engineering (popularly known as the GLS conference amongst professionals in the field) were initiated in 1992 and proposed to cover science & technologies of two-phase and three-phase flows in process vessels, new techniques of experimentation, modeling & simulation, and other innovations that are likely to address the needs of the chemical process, refining and fertilizer industries in the coming decades. Following the success of the seven previous GLS congress, the eighth conference with same theme is proposed in New Delhi, India from 16th-19th December 2007, under the chairmanship of Professor K. D. P. Nigam of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
The Organizing Committee invites original contributions attributed to any aspect of theory and applications of Gas-Liquid and Gas-Liquid-Solid reactor engineering for submission to GLS-8, the 8th International Conference on Gas-Liquid and Gas-Liquid-Solid Reactor Engineering. The conference will focus on some areas of topical interest, in keeping with what has been covered in GLS-7 and what the Organizing Committee deems important in the future.
Topics of Interest include:
(1) Gas-Liquid and Gas-Liquid-Solid Transport Phenomena
(2) Classical Multiphase Reactors: Packed and Trickle Beds, Bubble Columns, Three Phase Slurry and Fluidized Bed Reactors, Stirred Tank Reactors etc.
(3) Multiphase Computational Fluid Dynamics & Multi-Scale Modeling in Multiphase Chemical Reactor Engineering, Microfluidics
(4) Heat & Mass Transfer in Multiphase Systems
(5) Bioreactor Engineering for Multiphase Systems
(6) Process Intensification and its Consequences on Multiphase (G-L & G-L-S) Reactors
(7) Measurement and Flow Visualization Techniques for Multiphase Systems
(8) Multiphase Interfacial Engineering
(9) Applications in Environmental, Chemical or Hydrocarbon processing, Mineralogy, and Process Metallurgy
