AMTEC ANNOUNCES TECPLOT VERSION 9.2
General Text Loader Saves Time Importing Data into New Version of Tecplot
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Amtec Engineering, Inc., a developer of data visualization software, today announced the release of Tecplot 9.2, its flagship technical plotting software for engineers and scientists. The software's new General Text Loader, providing a flexible, intuitive interface for getting ASCII data into Tecplot, is a key feature of this release. With the General Text Loader, users can explore and create plots directly from their existing ASCII data formats.
The General Text Loader lets users scan data for titles and variables, set filters, and preview the processed data before importing. By saving a configuration file, users can apply a format specific to their data the next time they need to load a file.
"Editing your data before you import it is time-consuming." said Mike Peery, Amtec's president. "The General Text Loader allows our customers to do more engineering and analysis in much less time."
In other news, the 9.2 release is available for the Mac OS X and represents the first time Tecplot supports Macintosh computers. It offers all the performance optimizations and feature enhancements since the original release of Tecplot 9.0, including Plot Approximation Mode. With a single upgrade, users immediately realize significant performance improvements and added functionality.
Tecplot 9.2 is Amtec's versatile plotting and data analysis software. Its general technical plotting and high-end 3-D visualization capabilities create superb on-screen graphics and presentation-quality output. Tecplot is the ideal tool for engineers and scientists working with large data sets created by numerical simulation software, data from analysis and testing, and those seeking a one-stop-shop for data visualization. Tecplot 9.2 is available for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, Mac OS X, Linux, and most UNIX workstations with prices starting at $1,495 in the U.S.A.
