CD-adapco will be demonstrating their range CAE software and services, dedicated to providing flow and thermal simulation across the entire Power Generation industry, at Power-Gen Europe 2006, 30 May - 1 June 2006, Koelnmesse, Cologne, Germany. CD-adapco have been providing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software and services across a wide range of power generation applications for the past 25 years and will be demonstrating their leading CFD codes, STAR-CD and STAR-CCM+, at Stand 2220 of the exhibition hall.
Computational Fluid Dynamics is a method of simulating flow and thermal behaviour using computer technology. Starting from a 3D-CAD model, engineers specify material properties and operating conditions and obtain detailed information, such as the pressure drop across as system, efficiency of combustion, forces on a turbine blade or peak temperatures in a reactor core.
This virtual testing environment makes CFD ideal for running “what-if” design evaluations. Consequently, development costs are reduced as fewer physical prototypes are required and performance is improved as deeper insight is obtained. Utilizing CFD in this way has been at the heart of improvements to efficiency and reliability.
CD-adapco is the leading global provider of full-spectrum engineering simulation solutions for fluid flow, heat transfer and stress, including CFD software, CAD-embedded CFD options, CAE consulting services and training.
