I am happy to inform you that National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India in association with MTAB, Chennai and Materialise, Malaysia is organizing a Two-Day National Workshop on “Advanced Medical Applications Using MIMICS Software” on 8th & 9th October 2010.

Rapid Prototyping (RP) Technology is getting popular for preparation of complicated engineering and medical models. Medical models are prepared from patients CT and MRI reports. Computer Aided Design (CAD) model is prepared in 3D for visualization of part of human body like skull, dental implant etc. using MIMICS software such 3D CAD model’s STL file is generated which in turn produce the part on any RP machine.

This workshop provides a platform for Mechanical/Bio-Medical/Bio-Technology/Chemical/Electronics Engineers/Pharma and Medical/Dental Professionals to come together to learn and implement CAD/RP Technology to produce complicated medical implants.
