Upgraded Status Provides Increased Access to EFD.Pro for Pro/ENGINEER® Wildfire™, the Easy to Use Fluid Flow and Heat Transer Analysis Program, for PTC Customers

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, March 31, 2006 – NIKA GmbH, the leading provider of fluid flow and heat transfer simulation software for engineers, has announced that it has become the latest PTC Platinum Partner.

PTC, the Product Development Company™ bestows Platinum Partner status to a select group of companies that offer highly integrated, complementary technologies for manufacturers who need to create winning products and gain a competitive edge in their markets.

NIKA’s product, EFD.Pro, is a fully integrated fluid flow and heat transfer simulation product for Pro/ENGINEER. Its seamless interface enables users to create designs with Pro/ENGINEER and then immediately analyze and optimize them inside the Pro/ENGINEER environment. The tight integration between the products combined with the associative nature of Pro/ENGINEER enable engineers to use the results to quickly modify and optimize their designs.

“NIKA has been a successful member of our partner program since 2003” stated Dr. Carsten A. Hochmuth, director, partner programs at PTC. “We greatly appreciate NIKA’s continued support and look forward to working even more closely with them to build additional value for our joint customers”.

“EFD.Pro has been adopted by many world-class companies using Pro/ENGINEER such as Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd, DAF Trucks and Siemens “ said Roland Feldhinkel, NIKA’s managing director. “By working closely with PTC, we will continue to provide the best solution for fluid flow analysis within the Pro/ENGINEER environment and enable companies of all sizes to implement an effortless Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.”

EFD.Pro has been used for the development and optimization of various products such as automotive parts, computer housings, switching units, electronic devices, HVAC systems, valves and regulators and medical equipment within a short time frame and with better quality.

EFD.Pro Overview

EFD.Pro is based on the principles of Engineering Fluid Dynamics (EFD). EFD is an advanced approach for creating fluid flow and heat transfer analysis software. While relying on the same mathematical and physical foundation as traditional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) programs, it removes the complexity of numerical/mathematical schemes from the user.

Featuring a seamless integration with Pro/ENGINEER, EFD.Pro uses the original Pro/ENGINEER parts and assemblies without requiring the user to model the flow domain separately. Its graphical pre-processor guides the user step-by-step through the physical data definition process using the Pro/ENGINEER model.

EFD.Pro also features innovative technology such as automatic meshing, automatic detection of the fluid region and automatic laminar-turbulent modeling. It offers a wide range of analysis capabilities such as compressible and incompressible liquids and gases, laminar and turbulent flows, heat transfer and species transport for steady-state and transient flow regimes as well as numerous other sophisticated physical models. Its fully integrated graphical postprocessor offers comprehensive results visualization and valuation capabilities with tight connectivity to MS Excel and MS Word using the original Pro/ENGINEER model.
