March 28, 2006 Autodesk Certifies CFdesign v8.0 as Upfront CFD Solution for Inventor 11

CFdesign v8.0 empowers engineers working in Autodesk Inventor 11 to see product performance not visible during physical tests. Design trade-off studies are conducted on a workstation PC in a fraction of the time and cost.Associative Simulation Provides Mechanical Engineers Affordable, Convenient Flow & Thermal Design Optimization Tools

Charlottesville, VA – Blue Ridge Numerics is pleased to announce CFdesign® v8.0 upfront CFD software is certified as an integrated simulation tool for Autodesk Inventor® 11.

The integrated appications work together to transform a standard workstation PC into an interactive, 3D flow bench, thermal test rig, and wind tunnel. Native Inventor 11 assemblies serve as zero-cost prototypes. Most importantly critcal product performance information not available from physical testing is revealed to the engineer.

“Companies derive tremendous value when fluid flow and heat transfer issues are proactively addressed during the early design stages and within a 3D modeling environment,” stated Blue Ridge Numerics president, Ed Williams. “Autodesk Inventor 11 and CFdesign v8.0 create an excellent digital prototyping platform that is ideally suited for design engineers and multi-tasking staff that want CFD to be an on-demand tool not a career path.”

On average, engineering groups using CFdesign are reducing the time to develop, test, and prove new products by 70%. Customers also report they are cutting costs for materials and outside services by 65%.

Fluid Flow Capabilities include: Internal & External Laminar & Turbulent Incompressible, Compressible Steady State, Transient, and Two-phase Flow-Driven Motion Motion-Driven Flow Turbomachinery

Heat Transfer Capabilities include: Conduction Convection (natural, mixed, forced) Conjugate (simultaneous conduction and convection) Radiation Joule

Companies using Autodesk Inventor with CFdesign include Air Liquide, Alstom Power, Baltimore Coil, BorgWarner Transmission, CompAir UK, Controlotron, Diamond Power, FFE Minerals, Gardner Denver, Joy Mining and Machinery, MTI MicorFuel Cells, Norgren, Parker Hannifin, Simplex, and Young & Franklin.

About Blue Ridge Numerics Blue Ridge Numerics puts comprehensive fluid flow and heat transfer simulation upfront in the product development process where it creates tremendous value for small, medium, and large companies around the world. Our rapidly growing global customer list includes leaders in major vertical industries including aerospace, appliances, automotive, electronics, food & drug, HVAC, material processing, medical, military & defense, plumbing, and power generation.

First introduced in 1992, our unique Upfront CFD vision, supported by the proprietary CFdesign technology platform, saves customers money and time by reducing the amount of wind tunnel and flow bench testing necessary to validate new designs. Listed on the Inc. 500 and Deloitte Technology Fast 500, Blue Ridge Numerics is one of the fastest growing technology companies in America and the fastest growing CFD software company in the world.
