GDT Software Group is pleased to announce of a Version of ScientificVR v.1.3 (S-VR 1.3) for UNIX.
The latest UNIX S-VR 1.3 provides on-the-fly data visualization for parallel computing systems and possesses extensive functional capabilities, the ability to handle a wide range of data types, presentation and output formats, and various scalar/vector array operations that can be expanded by way of using plug-ins. A variety of setting options make it possible to change input parameters quickly and create images of high quality for presentations or scientific research. All this makes S-VR 1.3 an extremely attractive tool for rapid, outstanding qualitative and quantitative data visualization.
Major Features:
- friendly and intuitive GUI;
- ideal and flexible architecture, based on a plug-in multi-layer building principle, which allows achieving considerable flexibility with abstract complex data visualization;
- image sub-system plug-ins; each intended for a certain type image presentation, including 3D-voxel graphics, vectors, iso-lines, iso-surfaces, etc.; unrestricted image rearrangement;
- display sub-system plug-ins that allow saving images and animations in different formats;
- functional transformation plug-ins creating secondary data from the input data stream by defined rules;
- creation of animation files that allow visualizing the dynamic process as it progresses from a single viewpoint, allow visualizing static data from different viewing angles, or that allow rotation step-by-step to show the dynamic process propagation from different viewing angles.
- stereoscopic 3D-image presentation for any type of visualization (voxel images, iso-surfaces, 3D-images, vectors or their combination) and animation files; interlaced or page-flipping mode is available for saving animation files in MNG format;
- full STL standard compatibility that allows importing objects from CAD systems.
For customers this enables:
- expanding the S-VR 1.3 installed with new functional capabilities by using plug-ins, which can be by the package developers, third-party developers or customers; - utilizing the S-VR 1.3 to process the most varied, large and complex datasets obtained from differing data sources. - more understandable and illustrative data presentation; - saving working time; - achieving maximal result early in the development stage; - avoiding non-optimal variants; - saving data in different file formats using corresponding plug-ins; - visualizing the dynamic process as it progresses from a single viewpoint, static data from different viewing angles, rotation step-by-step to show the dynamic process propagation from different viewing angles; - visualizing parameter distribution inside solid structures.
Testing
The release has been tested under the Debian GNU/Linux 3.1, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server v.9 and Red Hat Advanced Server v.3 operating systems. Testing on Solaris 10 and MacOSX 10.4 is in progress.
Availability
The release is available immediately for both 64-bit and 32-bit platforms supporting the most major Linux distributions.
