Fluent’s 2005 BeNeLux User Group meeting held in Limelette, Belgium proved to be a resounding success, with attendance increasing threefold in recent years.
More than 100 delegates from BeNeLux’s most high profile companies gathered together along with presenters representing a range of the region’s industries working with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), to contribute to this valuable meeting. In addition, there was an exhibition space where a number of Fluent’s partners showcased their products and services.
The annual UGM offers a unique opportunity for delegates to meet influential people from fluid dynamics related areas, to share ideas and discuss the use of CFD as well as provide an insight into the future of CFD technology.
This year’s program included keynote presentations from Fluent management and staff on product technology roadmaps, technical papers by users profiling their actual experiences in applying Fluent software in their workplace, as well as productivity workshops and a user forum.
Delegates were able to see recent developments to Fluent’s portfolio of solutions, including demonstrations of FloWizard, Fluent’s rapid flow modelling tool aimed at the design/process engineer community, and a preview of FLUENT for CATIA v5, which combines the worlds most widely used and powerful CFD code, FLUENT 6.2, with the leading CATIA V5 PLM software environment from Dassault Systèmes. This will make Fluent the only CFD vendor to offer a fully embedded CATIA solution, giving full associativity, helping clients to increase speed and productivity in their design process.
The value of the conference to attendees has been reflected in the positive feedback received. Research has shown that more than 85% of attendees where very happy with the UGM and that it met their primary objectives very well or extremely well.
Christophe Waucquez, Business Development Manager at Fluent Benelux says, “The success of this year’s UGM has highlighted the increasing importance of CFD in the design process. By showcasing new technology developments and innovative use of CFD, the event offers a unique opportunity to gather information and share experiences.”
Work is now beginning to ensure future Fluent Benelux User Group Meetings will be even better, and an event anyone involved in CFD can’t afford to miss.
A proceedings book and CD containing each paper presented at the 2005 Benelux UGM is available upon request. -ends-
