London and New York, September 21, 2005: CD-adapco is proud to announce the release of version 1.08 of STAR-CCM+, "the next generation CFD solution". Users will be able to benefit from the solver's very latest developments, including speedup and solution accuracy.
STAR-CCM+ is unique in the current CFD marketplace. The combination of CD-adapco’s polyhedral cell technology, an easy-to-use front-end and state-of-the-art object-oriented, client-server software, means STAR-CCM+ empowers Engineers to solve their flow and thermal problems like no other CFD code. Polyhedral cells have the synergistic properties of quick and easy meshing (even with the most complex geometries) showing significantly improved solution accuracy over tetrahedral methodologies, while using less memory.
President and Founder of CD-adapco, Steve MacDonald says, “This year sees the 25th anniversary of CD-adapco. All this time in the CAE business has taught us how to deliver products that lead the field in process integration and quick model set-up and turnaround. STAR-CCM+, with its polyhedral cell capability, can save your engineers time and your business money".
This release utilizes the very latest compiler enhancements, resulting in up to a 20% speedup for Linux 64bit users. Other enhancements include improvements to STAR-CCM+’s already superior visualization functionality, support of new hardware configurations and supercomputer Message Passing Interfaces (MPIs).
STAR-CCM+ 1.08 is the recommended upgrade for all 1.06 users. If you haven’t experienced STAR-CCM+ yet, 1.08’s release is the perfect opportunity to find out what you’re missing.
CD-adapco is the leading global provider of full-spectrum engineering simulation (CAE) solutions for fluid flow, heat transfer and stress, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, CAD-embedded CFD options, CAE consulting services and training. Principal offices are in New York, London and Yokohama with subsidiary offices across the world.
