The VKI Lecture Series on "Fluid dynamics of biological flows" will take place at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (Belgium) from May 17 - 21, 2010.
Fluid Dynamics is a discipline that has increasing importance in biology. The aim of this course is to introduce newcomers to Bio-fluid Mechanics and also to present a state of the art as well as the latest development in the field. In this Lecture Series, initial presentations will provide a theoretical background on respiratory and cardiovascular Biofluid Mechanics. They will be followed by extensive courses on experimental and numerical modelling of the circulatory system and flows within the lung.
