Simerics, Inc. continues its commitment to innovation with the release of PumpLinx v.2.5.
PumpLinx can be used to improve efficiency, minimize cavitation, control pressure ripple, and reduce noise. Created for designers of pumps, motors, compressors, propellers, and other fluid devices with rotating or sliding components, PumpLinx is based on Simerics, general-purpose CFD simulation software. PumpLinx enables the engineer to create a virtual test article and generate flow visualization and engineering output as accurate as a full scale hardware test at a fraction of the time and cost. The code is continually being developed to add new capability for modeling a wide range of equipment.
More than 10 pump templates are now available.
PumpLinx is now parallel, which means it is even faster – up to three times faster – than its current market-leading speed. The new version includes a new rolling vane and radial piston template, a Linux version, and improvements in the cavitation and heat modules.
PumpLinx Version 2.5 New Features:
1) Parallel version (up to 3x speed up on quad core) 2) New Linux version available 3) New Equilibrium Gas Model in the cavitation module 4) Support for volumes blanking and volumetric sources for all modules 5) Heat module improvements: new boundaries and many new options 6) Automatic CG wall assignment in Heat based on blanking information 7) New Rolling Vane Template 8) New Radial Piston Template 9) Improvement in the 1D Spool Valve Model
