For those who want to just try out CFX-5 to see how it handles, this absolutely free half day workshop will be repeated four times on May 6 and 7, 2002 in advance of the CFX North American Users Conference. The workshop will focus around modeling a turbulent flow in a duct with increasing complexity. We won't have time to go into all the advanced features and models, and this workshop is not an introductory training course, but it should provide you with an chance to take CFX-5 for a spin.
The workshop will start with just modeling the duct, then turning vanes will be added, after that a conductive solid obstruction will be incorporated that will separate hot and cold flows before they mix. Finally our expert editor will be used to dynamically modify the physical set-up. Incorporated into these examples will be most of the distinguishing and powerful features of CFX-5 such as automatic meshing, inflated boundary layers, solution based mesh adaption and CHT modeling.
