Turbulence Lecture by Dr. Florian Menter, CFX

Posted By: Chris Reeves
Date:Wed, 3 Apr 2002, 7:15 p.m.

As part of the CFX North American Users Conference, Dr. Florian Menter will be presenting a lecture on Turbulence Modelling. The lecture will be held in Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday May 7 from 8:30 to 4:30.

The starting point of the course are the basic one and two-equation turbulence models. The lectures will address extensions of these models for low Reynolds number and transitional flows, new wall function concepts, and the coupling of one and two-equation models. Lectures will also be provided on second-moment closure turbulence models and Large Eddy Simulation methods. All the models presented in the workshop are available in CFX software. Criteria for the proper selection of an appropriate turbulence model for a specific application are discussed including specification of boundary conditions, and usage of the models in CFX-5 and CFX-TASCflow. The workshop is aimed at all those interested in turbulence modelling and the application of modern turbulence models to industrial flows.
