es-ice is the latest release of a meshing and analysis tool developed and used by adapco to simplify the meshing and analysis setup for transient in-cylinder flow calculations with moving mesh. This training course is intended for users wishing to expand their knowledge of es-ice using realistic engine geometries. The course content includes:

o Moving mesh basics and surface data preparation

o Template and mesh generation using the new Trimming Methods

o es-ice/PROSTAR analysis setup

o Simple STAR-CD/STAR-HPC analyses

o Simple post processing

o Steady state modeling

o Diesel engine sector modeling for closed cycle analysis

The course emphasis is on teaching students applicable techniques within es-ice to model their own engine geometries.

Course Material:

The course includes a color copy of the es-ice manual and tutorial set covering the basics of es-ice meshing and analysis.

Course Prerequisites:

o A good knowledge of STAR-CD including transient analysis and STAR-HPC

o Some knowledge of moving mesh techniques with PROSTAR

o Familiarity with Unix or Linux

No prior knowledge of es-ice is required.
