2nd NAFEMS CFD Seminar: Simulation of Complex Flows
25-26 April 2005, Niedernhausen/Wiesbaden, Germany
Registration information: www.nafems.de and info@nafems.de
OBJECTIVES
The seminar is intended as a forum for experts and managers in the area of computer simulation of fluid flow processes. The event is accompanied by a special exhibition of engineering software, computer systems, and related consultancy services. A comprehensive review of the current state-of-the-art and trends as well as of future challenges will thus be accessible to participants.
CONTRIBUTIONS & TOPICS OF INTEREST
Papers that illustrate the current state of knowledge with the help of specific applications involving complex flow configurations are sought. Furthermore, recent progress and emerging trends due to public R&D projects should be documented. Most contributions should originate from a broad industrial basis and address specific economic needs and current social concerns. In particular, review of work resulting in new knowledge obtained with the help of high-performance computing systems and various advanced methods of numerical simulation, visualisation, and optimisation would be welcome. Applications are sought in such diverse areas as aircraft, ship, and automobile design, including combustion or metal casting processes. Other topics may involve medical technologies or microfluidics.
Finally, current requirements in environmental safety or disaster protection for highly populated regions may be addressed by work simulating the consequences of fires, explosions, and related hazards, including complex phenomena leading to natural catastrophes.
PROCEEDINGS
Most oral presentations are expected to be in German. However, the printed version of all papers must be in English and will be available at the seminar.
See www.nafems./Downloads/Inhalt_cfd04.pdf for work presented during the previous NAFEMS CFD seminar in 2004.
DATES
Abstracts to: info@nafems.de until 04 February 2005.
Manuscripts of accepted papers due 08 April 2005.
