NASA will organize a Transition Modeling Workshop on September 13-14, 2017, at the National Institute of Aerospace in Hampton, Virginia. The purpose of this workshop is to help assess the challenges associated with the modeling of boundary-layer transition as it relates to the objectives of CFD Vision 2030 and to formulate a long term research plan to overcome those challenges. The workshop will include invited presentations by experts and stakeholders from government, industry, and academia, and will conclude with an open forum discussion that will be facilitated by Prof. Eli Reshotko and Dr. Phillipe Spalart. A preliminary agenda for the workshop is available at https://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/Transition_workshop2017/transition_workshop2017_agenda.pdf.
Workshop participation is by invitation only. However, depending on available space, others are welcome to attend as well. If you wish to be a regular attendee (i.e., not a presenter/invited participant), then you must submit the registration form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NASA_Transition_Workshop by Aug. 14th so that a decision for attendance may be communicated to you by August 17th.
