Direct Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Flows
The aim of our Special Session is discussion of Direct Numerical Simulation of turbulent flows and flows with hydrodynamical instability. The examples of flows are turbulent convection with and without rotation, flows in channels, flows with magnetic forces, mixing layer, flows with Rayleigh-Taylor, Kelvin-Helmholtz and Richtmyer-Meshkov instability.

Topics:

Our aim is discussion of Direct Numerical Simulation of turbulent flows and flows with hydrodynamical instability. The examples of flows are turbulent convection with and without rotation, flows in channels, flows with magnetic forces, mixing layer, flows with Rayleigh-Taylor, Kelvin-Helmholtz and Richtmyer-Meshkov instability. Topics for the proposed session include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of turbulent flows,

2. Simulation of flows with various hydrodynamical instability,

3. Numerical methods for DNS of turbulent flows,

4. Linear and nonlinear analysis of numerical methods for DNS of turbulent flows,

5. Comparison with experimental data and results of other approaches (LES, RANS and semiempirical),

6. Industrial applications
