Description:

A 3-Day intensive course on the 'Application of Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics Tools to the Offshore and Marine Industries'.Houston, Texas, July 13 - 15, 2004.

In this course designed for Managers, Engineers, Analysts and Designers in the Offshore and Marine industry, CD adapco experts will offer a combination of hands-on training using the leading computational fluid dynamic software tools from the CD adapco group and also short seminars to ensure application of knowledge is transferred to the design and analysis process as efficiently as possible. Examples of real world applications and proven benefits of the virtual design environment in this industry will also be discussed.

The sandwich type course will cover aspects of engineering analysis pertaining to upstream applications, downhole applications, sub-sea engineering and other marine engineering areas. The main aspect of the course, the hands-on training on the use of the software, will give users an appreciation of the capability of the CD adapco tools to bring the virtual design environment to the offshore industry. The course will consist of three days instruction with interspersed seminars to ensure the relevance of topics to particular offshore engineering areas is understood.

July 13:

Introduction to the use of CFD in the offshore and marine industries, including topside and process engineering Introduction to Design-class and CAD integrated computational fluid dynamic analysis.

July 14:

Advanced Computational Modeling techniques including free-
surface flows, fluid-structure interaction.

July 15:

Further topics in advanced modeling and process engineering.
Summary and targeted tool application areas.
