CONFERENCE SYNOPSIS

The conference will focus on:

• State-of-the-art methodologies for measuring interactions between fluids and small particles
• New or improved theories toward better understanding of the interactions
• New modeling or simulation results or techniques describing local interactions and interactions manifested in industrial processes
• Discussing emerging and current industrial applications where the interactions between fluids and particles play important roles
• Identifying research needs and defining technical problems for further research

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES AND TOPICS OUTLINE

This international conference is organized to bring together practicing engineers and researchers from various disciplines dealing with fluid-particle systems and processes. Its purpose is to foster in-depth discussions and exchange of ideas on new research results, implications in applying research results, and to identify relevant research needs and directions. Recent research will be presented on the following topics of relevance to existing and emerging industrial problems involving fluid-particle interactions:

• recent advances in novel measurement techniques
• new and improved modeling and simulation methods
• better understanding of prevailing particle-particle and particle-surface forces
• effects of particle characteristics
