Description:

Vehicle Overheating Scenarios Explored - A 1D CFD Modeling Approach
3rd August, 11am UK Time & 10am US Time (PST)

We have invited CSEG to present this technical webinar which explores various scenarios of a cooling system overheating in a vehicle.

The vehicle cooling system is typically designed for the worst case heat generation scenarios. In real driving conditions however, the vehicle can overheat when the heat removal capacity of the cooling system is compromised due to radiator air recirculation, non-uniformity of airflow and temperature and driver factors.

A 1D CFD computational approach to predict these scenarios will be discussed including model development in Flowmaster software with specific focus on 2D heat exchanger stacking and air recirculation. The vehicle cooling thermal model is coupled with a Vehicle Powertrain model to capture the effect of vehicle driving profile on the cooling system.
