Optimal engine aftertreatment system design is critical to the success of cars, trucks, tractors, large ships, and power generators in today’s regulatory environment. Urea/SCR systems have become the standard solution to meeting TIER and EURO emissions regulations for NOx while mitigating risks such as urea deposit formation. CONVERGE CFD includes all of the high fidelity models required for accurate urea/SCR simulations as well as an automated meshing process that dramatically reduces simulation setup time. In this webinar, we will show you how CONVERGE’s state-of-the-art spray and spray-wall interaction models allow designers to rapidly identify the optimal arrangement and mixer design. We will examine validation cases for droplets, urea decomposition, filming, splashing, and conjugate heat transfer. We will also demonstrate how to couple a CONVERGE 3D simulation with GT-SUITE from Gamma Technologies to model surface chemistry in the SCR.
