Dear all forum members,
I need your advice for attending OpenFOAM training course for both foundation and advanced. I'm planning to book for OpenFOAM course in January 2014, but before booking, I would like to know some of your experiences if any. Any of you attended this course? Is it important to attend such of these courses as I'm beginner in that area? If any have any idea provide me please because this course is quite expensive and I don't want to loose my money because I will pay myself. Cheers Maimouna |

Dear Maimouna,
First make your hands dirty by using OpenFOAM, then you can decide for courses. Use User guide & Programming guide for initial learning. -- KANNAN |

Hi,
most OF-courses have a pricetag >1000€, but there is also online course at 400€ http://enseñanzaonline.com/es/tienda...penfoam-detail there is a discussion about that offer. Also I can recommend OF-workshop material http://www.openfoamworkshop2013.org/...p?Main=2&sub=1 visit the previous workshops as well other course material "MSc/PhD course in CFD with OpenSource software" http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kurser/OS_CFD/ http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kurser/OS_CFD_2007/ http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kurser/OS_CFD_2008/ ..09, 10. http://www.dicat.unige.it/guerrero/O...ourse2013.html |

Hi,
I personally attended the courses. I highly recommend those of you who would like to start OF, to begin with the guides and tutorials and familiarize yourself with the software first. Otherwise, you may find yourself wasting the one-by-one sessions by asking very simple questions which would be covered readily beforehand the training courses. Good luck! |
