Greetings to all!

I'm creating this thread for publicizing and gathering any questions about using execFunctionObjects, which is a minimalist variant of OpenFOAM's own execFlowFunctionObjects: https://github.com/wyldckat/execFunctionObjects
Instructions on how to build and use are provided on the link above.

As for execFlowFunctionObjects, I'll be taking care of starting the wiki page for it here: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ex...unctionObjects

For those wondering about the main differences between the two:
  • execFlowFunctionObjects allows us to run function objects and it is able to pre-load all of the essential fields and models.
  • execFunctionObjects allows us to run function object, but does not provide anything else. Any need fields and models have to be loaded through function objects and the "libs" entry in "controlDict". swak4Foam is advised for loading the missing models: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/swak4Foam
Best regards,
Bruno

Nice. The recently added funkyPythonPostproc does something similar (it needs to call the function objects to get the data into the Python-code)
wyldckat likes this.
