use this link and download all files (mesh, case, data file) for the Reynolds number 200. For time step 0.2 solution is fully converged. Converge further the case with time step = 0.5 and 0.001 to check the effects of time step on strouhal number, lift and drag

This mesh if run for turbulence Reynolds number shall give you y+ less than 1, so this file is also valid for higher Reynolds number simulations. Any body is welcome to download this file.

Thank you anyway.

Tell me, are you actually can see the animation/simulation tutorial on above link?

If not, why do you show me above link?

Are you making people mind being lost?

If someone asking for an urgent help in A, why do you show the B one?

Are you trying to push me into a deep hole pit of death?

"Nimbus, this would help you"

Sure buddy! Ha ha ha

You treat me like a child.

Now, if you really such as that wise and helpful, why not you try to tell me on how to create a full simulation/animation tutorial on flow over cylinder using gambit and fluent in your own version without having to show somebody tutorial?

The case file inside is not working with FLUENT. There is no mesh file inside. May be I will try to create same in Gambit. How to open these files?

This is Fluent 13 case file so cannot be opened in older versions. You can again write the mesh file from the tin and blocking files for ICEM CFD. I shall also upload the .msh file for the users who are using older versions.

files are attached even with better topology than the previous one along with file in .msh format. Enjoy.

Thank you. Its working now in older versions. Can you give data regarding the mesh, I mean domain extent, types of nodes used, boundary conditions etc,. I will try creating same in Gambit, as it helps me to learn better.

Mesh extent is 25 dia upstream, 35 dia downstream and 25 times in other lateral direction. Structured meshing is used. created another cylinder of dia 7 m around the 1 m dia cylinder to maintain the orthogonality in the vicinity of wall.
Boundary conditions are Velocity = 1 m/s L = 1 m , density = 1 kg/m3 and viscosity calculated from Reynolds number formula.
Total no. of nodes = 44468

Animation creating is the work that i have done at my starting career of my cfd simulations. This is the way to make your animations in fluent.

fluent 14 or 13
calculation activities>> solution animations>>create edit>>
active sequence = 1
define then go to countor or pathlies and whatever you want to create the animation
and make it run
when your simulation is complete
go to
graphics animation>>scene animation
read t he file >>write it iin mpeg file
and you are done

thanks and regards

SHK
