Hi all,
is it possible to create a H-mesh inside a O-grid in ICEM (ref figure below, trying to illustrate block setup)? (I want to use this to mesh a rectangular cylinder (second figure).) Best regards Sindre |

Thank you so much for responding, been working on this problem for a while. Can you please explain what you mean by using "blocking inside"? Do you mean that I can hide the surrounding blocks and then only split the center block?

That worked perfectly, as shown in the first figure
But this leaves me with another question: Is it possible to create a Y-grid inside a O-grid (indicated by red lines on second figure)? (((For information: I found the Index Control by right clicking the Blocking tab in the tree on the left side. User manual states that it is also possible to use the shortkey "i". ))) |

I've been trying to do this in the same way, but it interrupts the surrounding blocks. Pictures displays the result.

Do you know if it is possible to do it the other way around?
The reason why I'm asking is that I want to use the Y-block to create a mesh around a sharp corner, as shown in the first figure. That is, block 25, 27, 23 and 4 om the second figure. |

Thank you Sijal,
Your method worked out perfectly. The blocking index option was exactly what I've been searching for. I've posted a couple of pictures below, showing the resulting mesh. Sindre |

After requests some more pictures are posted of block topology and generated mesh.
EDIT: This time of a square cylinder. |

Hello Ernesto,
have a look at the attached picture. In the ogrid menu, use "add faces" to select the red-marked faces/edges in the picture. The use "add blocks" to selct blocks which are marked in light red in the picture. Then you should come up with a blocking sindre asked for. With regards, Sebastian centerYblock.png |
