The DrivAer model is a generic car model developed at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics at the Technische Universität München to facilitate aerodynamic investigations of passenger vehicles [1-8].

The DrivAer model is intended to close the gap between strongly simplified models such as the Ahmed body and highly complex production cars.

The model is designed as a modular vehicle with exchangeable rear end forms and underbodies, allowing for 18 different configurations.

The CAD geometry can be used in independent studies. Additionally, numerical and experimental results gained at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics will be published in form of a database in order to facilitate the validation and future investigations of the DrivAer model.

A more detailed description of the model along with the geometry files can be found at: http://www.drivaer.com .
