applications from motivated candidates with a strong background in Computational
Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
The selected candidate will be involved in numerical simulation, analysis, and
visualization of fluid flow and heat transfer across a range of applications
including microfluidics, thermal systems, and porous media flows, with
opportunities to assist in undergraduate teaching and project guidance.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop CFD models and perform simulations using commercial and open-
source solvers.
• Generate high-quality meshes and perform grid-independence studies.
• Analyze fluid flow, heat transfer, and multiphysics interactions across
different geometries.
• Post-process and visualize results using Tecplot, MATLAB, or Python.
• Support undergraduate CFD labs and projects as part of departmental
teaching activities.
Required Skills
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and
thermodynamics.
• Hands-on experience with:
o ANSYS Fluent / CFX / OpenFOAM
o Gambit / ANSYS Meshing / ICEM CFD
o SolidWorks for geometry preparation
o Tecplot / ParaView / MATLAB/ Graph PAD, Excel for visualization and
analysis
Desirable Skills
• Knowledge of multiphase flows, porous media modeling, or Lattice
Boltzmann methods (LBM).
• Prior exposure to experimental validation or data correlation with CFD.
• Interest in contributing to UG/PG course demonstrations or tutorials.
Eligibility
• M.Tech / M.E. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering with CFD
specialization.
• B.Tech candidates with strong project-level CFD experience may also
apply.
• Prior exposure to simulation-based research or teaching is an advantage.
