Laboratory of Turbulence, Sensing

& Intelligence Systems
University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)

Graduate

Research Assistant position in Mechanical Engineering: The Laboratory of

Turbulence, Sensing & Intelligence Systems is seeking motivated students to
join
our NASA-funded research team starting Spring/Fall 
2026.

Research Focus:

Students will develop and apply machine learning and AI tools to address

cutting-
edge problems in:

Atmospheric Turbulence Modeling

Air Pollution

Monitoring & Prediction

Space and Aerospace Systems

Requirements:

Strong

programming skills (Python, C++, or similar)

Hands-on experience with machine

learning/AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, 
PyTorch, Scikit-learn)

Background
in
Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics (Undergraduates in
these
disciplines are encouraged to apply)

The funding is from NASA.
