The position involves use of CFD to investigate thermal-fluid aspects of renewable energy power systems. The project is part of a large group effort, and models developed will integrate with power systems, control, and economic models for defined geographic regions within Vermont. Example problems might include building heating/cooling, electric current limits in distribution systems due to insulation heating, thermal energy storage, etc. Applicants should have a strong background in thermal-fluid computational engineering as well as a passion for development of renewable energy power systems.
