CFD Applications Engineer – Gas Turbine Combustion Modeling

Convergent Science is an innovative, rapidly expanding computational fluid 
dynamics software company. We specialize in modeling turbulent reacting flows 
with our flagship product, CONVERGE®, which is an advanced CFD software package 
with truly autonomous meshing capabilities. Convergent Science is headquartered 
in Madison, Wisconsin, and has offices in the United States, Europe, and India.

Position Overview

Convergent Science is looking for an ambitious CFD engineer to focus on gas 
turbine and other continuous flow combustion applications to help grow this 
business segment. Candidates have the option to work at our office in Madison, 
Wisconsin, or at one of our Texas offices, located in Houston and New Braunfels. 
The application engineer will report to the Director of Gas Turbine 

The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated and eager to explore 
opportunities for CONVERGE. This position is an excellent opportunity to be on 
the ground floor of a new business endeavor within a growing and stable 
Duties include: 
•	Customer visits
•	Preparing sample problems and tutorials
•	Creating presentations
•	Generating marketing materials
•	Attending trade shows
•	Conducting software training
•	Writing technical papers
•	Providing technical sales support

•	Ph.D. in mechanical or aerospace engineering with an emphasis on 
•	3+ years of experience working in gas turbine combustion CFD modeling
•	Expertise in large eddy simulation (LES) CFD modeling
•	Knowledge of Lagrangian spray models used in CFD 
•	Knowledge of detailed chemistry and pollutant combustion modeling
•	Knowledge of parallel computing 
•	Familiarity with the gas turbine combustion CFD modeling community is a 
•	A track record of publishing technical papers related to gas turbine 
        combustion modeling is a plus
•	US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status strongly recommended
