Hello,
is it possible to define variables in Tecplot macros with a variable name? I tried something like this in a loop: $!GETFIELDVALUE (|Y|NEXTPOINT||) didn't work out! If anyone has an idea or KNOWS that it doesn't work would make me very happy. Thanks for your help. Cheerio, trial |

After $!GETFIELDVALUE and a space you usually type the name of macro variable to put the value into. Unclear what you want from your description and snippet. Please elaborate.

It is my understanding that Tecplot’s macro language does not support the use of a variable within a variable.
If one’s work requires this, then the alternative is to write a Python script in Tecplot. Scott |
