Hello
I am currently working on a project in which I m designing an active grid (for the generation of turbulence). For this reason, I have multiple rotating parts to which I created overset mesh. I have worked with overset mesh multiple times but this time something is not quite right. For some regions, the hole cutting process is flawless but for 2 regions the hole is not generated. You can see the problem in the images below. T The image contains color coded mesh cells of the background region. The green cells are active cells, the blue cells are acceptor while red cells are inactive. The top and bottom overset meshes are overlapping each other a bit. It is possible to see the part geometry (the diamond/half diamond shapes) which has active cells in it but those must be inactive cells. This is also true for the lower, middle part where you can see the small active region. I must also point out that these parts are interfaced using zero gap overset mesh interface. I have used alternate hole cutting as well but the results are the same. What exactly the problem here? Is it the mesh quality? Thank you for your time. |
