Hello all,
I am using STAR CCM+ V12.06. I want to specify some angle to my flow. I selected mass flow inlet as inlet and selected angle in flow specification. I need to assign phi, theta and psi angle for angular flow. Can anyone specify what these angles are and how to specify them |

In physics conditions node, change the flow direction specifications to components. Then create a cylindrical co-ordinate system in tools node with Z-axis along the flow direction you want to give. Then in physics values node, in flow direction node, change the co-ordinate system to this cylindrical co-ordinate system. Remember Z is your axial direction (X-radial, Y-tangential). For flow direction node, change it from constant to composite. Then give X,Y,Z values there. Try this on some simple pipe and observe the swirl using streamlines. Then use this in actual case. Hope this helps. |
