Porous Media in Star CD

I am modelling a solid oxide fuel cell using Star-CD. Does anyone know if it is possible to model a 2 dimensional cell set as porous (in x and y)? Everytime I try, the porosity index in the cell table editor resets to zero. Makes me think that I need to extend my model in the z direction by a width of a single cell, thus making it 3-d. I know it works then...
Is this the way to proceed? |

For porous medium, fluent has the most recognized support specialist. Don't use the star-cd

All Star-CD problems are "3D" - your approach with making it one cell thick should be correct.
