I have been having this problem getting OpenFOAM to run tutorial 2.2 which is a flow around a cylinder. At first I used openfoam v1912. I was given these command lines to download the files needed in order for the tutorial to work sudo apt-get install build-essential flex bison cmake zlib1g-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-thread-dev libopenmpi-dev openmpi-bin gnuplot libreadline-dev libncurses-dev libxt-dev. I got it to generate the blockMesh but it would not run the simulation when I typed potentialFoam.

I upgraded to openfoam v2012 hoping that maybe that would fix it and now it won't even generate the blockMesh anymore.
I attached images below.
