Hi all,

I am using OF1812 with pimpleFoam to simulate the flow inside and outside a building.
Inside the room there is a patch A and in the wall of the room the patch B. There is a bc in both patches the way that the mass flow rate is linked and the pressure in one patch is in relation to the pressure in the other patch, plus a delta pressure ( using groovyBC). The delta pressure is a function of the mass flow rate. The idea is to impose the mass flow rate/ pressure drop due to a fan, plus cooler, plus internal tubes.... all the things that are not meshed.

Using simplec, I have detected that the solution is unstable but using simple approach, (relaxation factors p = 0.2, pFinal = 0.9, U=0.7, Ufinal=0.9), after 5 pimple iterations the solution is stable and stable in time after several time steps.

Does anyone know if the consistent approach is not valid for fanPressure bc or similar boundary conditions where there is a jump in pressure?

Best regards
