Hi,

Recently I have been trying to simulate a wave field past a fixed cylinder.
I would like to give the surface elevation on a figure with the cylinder also clearly visible.

By applying a contour and calculator filter I succeeded in plotting the surface elevation itself (attach.).
Is it possible to add the actual cylinder in this figure?
It seems I can not just make the internal mesh invisible because my filters rely on this part of the mesh to be visible.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Maxim

I assume you are using Paraview. In the same file that you are working in paraview, press the "open" and select your case file again (your .foam file in the case folder). Once you do that, you will have two identical files, but now you may superpose them. So in one of them you do all your filtering to show the wave, and in the other you leave it be, that way you will see the cylinder.
(there are many different ways to do this)
