Dear fellow OF users,
Good evening! I have got a bit of a problem, while installing OF v2006, under Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. It seems that im getting the below message after performing the Installation check: Executing foamInstallationTest Basic setup : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OpenFOAM: OpenFOAM-v2006 ThirdParty: ThirdParty-v2006 Shell: bash Host: gimerstick OS: Linux version 5.4.0-42-generic ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main OpenFOAM env variables : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Environment FileOrDirectory Valid Crit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $WM_PROJECT_USER_DIR /home/yoda/OpenFOAM/yoda-v2006 yes no $WM_THIRD_PARTY_DIR /home/yoda/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-v2006 yes maybe $WM_PROJECT_SITE [env variable unset] no ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OpenFOAM env variables in PATH : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Environment FileOrDirectory Valid Path Crit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $WM_PROJECT_DIR /home/yoda/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v2006 yes yes yes $FOAM_APPBIN ...06/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin yes yes yes $FOAM_SITE_APPBIN ...06/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin no no $FOAM_USER_APPBIN ...06/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin no no $WM_DIR /home/yoda/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v2006/wmake yes yes often ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OpenFOAM env variables in LD_LIBRARY_PATH : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Environment FileOrDirectory Valid Path Crit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $FOAM_LIBBIN ...06/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib no yes $FOAM_SITE_LIBBIN ...06/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib no no $FOAM_USER_LIBBIN ...06/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib no no $FOAM_EXT_LIBBIN ...v2006/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32/lib yes yes maybe $MPI_ARCH_PATH /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/openmpi yes yes yes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Software Components ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Software Version Location ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- flex 2.6.4 /usr/bin/flex wmake 2006 /home/yoda/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v2006/wmake/wmake gcc 9.3.0 /usr/bin/gcc g++ 9.3.0 /usr/bin/g++ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- icoFoam *** not installed *** CRITICAL ERROR Summary ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Base configuration ok. The foam installation contains 1 critical error(s). Review the output for warning messages and consult the installation guide for troubleshooting. Done I am also wondering why the highlighted Linux version is 5.4.0-42-generic, among other things. Prior to this step, foamSystemCheck produced the below output: Checking basic system... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shell: bash Host: gimerstick OS: Linux version 5.4.0-42-generic User: yoda System check: PASS ================== Can continue to OpenFOAM installation. I have also attached the log.linux64GccDPInt32Opt in case it clears things up. Any help would be highly appreciated Thanks! |

Dear Tanmay,
Thank you for your prompt reply! The problem was solved by excluding the -q out of .A/llwmake -j -s -q -l command, as was suggested, in the link you provided. Cheers, Nick |
