Hi I am having issues compiling openfoam v1912 and I can't find anything similar in previous posts on the forum. When I run ./Allwmake the thirdparty software compiles fine but once it moves to the src directory to compile POSIX the installation fails. I have checked to make sure bashrc is sourced correctly and the directory shortcuts such as $WM_PROJECT_DIR all point to the correct locations. Any help would be appreciated, the log file is attached i had to shorten it to make it fit :/.

Hi,
- Why thumbs down emoji? This software is released aligning the ISO-8601 standard for free. Can't understand such daring complaint. - Could you please share the steps you have taken for the installation, so that the error can be reproduced? I am almost sure that this is due to some aspect of the local setup, though.

1. Sorry you're right, can I amend it?
2. The files are in my desktop as I'm going to be comparing the results to COMSOL a lot and I didn't want to transfer the data in the command line. I unpacked the files from https://www.openfoam.com/download/install-source.php instead of using the pre-compiled ones. I made sure I followed the steps located here https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...quirements.php. Then i sourced the bashrc file and tested the shortcuts in the ubuntu bash terminal to check that they pointed to where my installation was located. I then proceeded to compiling ThirdParty using ./Allwmake in the ThirdParty folder. When I move to the openfoam folder and run ./Allwmake there it fails when compiling the OSspecific folder. |

Okay i've moved it all to the $HOME directory and updated the bashrc files and the dependencies. I've started compiling and the error message i receive is:
wmkdepend: could not open 'wmkdepend: could not open 'Instant.HInstant.H' for source file '' for source file 'signals/sigStopAtWriteNow.Csignals/sigWriteNow.C'': : No such file or directoryNo such file or directory |

Okay i've deleted it all, re-downloaded, and it is now compiling fine in $HOME. I would really have liked my installation to be in Desktop but that's okay
