Hello everybody,

I would like to use Prof. Fletcher's CFD books [Computational Techniques for Fluid Dynamics (Vol. 1/2)] to grasp the CFD fundamentals. To try out those examples, I am looking for the code. Does anybody have an idea where I can find it?

Greetings! Fabian

Hello Ashish,

I got the books at Amazon Germany (www.amzon.de). Did you try out Amazon?

I own both volumes. I notice that the codes are part of the chapter text. However, I guess that you are not content to copy the codes from the books into ASCII files by hand. You must be looking for the floppy diskette containing the codes that Fletcher refers to in his preface to the 2nd edition, in 1991.

It appears that Prof. Fletcher no longer teaches at the University of Sydney. In fact, I was unable to locate even a single web page referring to him, at the University of Sydney website. I do remember that along with his two-volume book, there was a supplementay book of worked examples, co-authored by Fletcher and K. Srinivas. I did notice that the co-author Karkenahalli Srinivas is still teaching in the Dept of AeroMech Engr at U of Sydney. Perhaps he might have a copy of the program diskette that he could duplicate and mail to you, or he could email you the zipped programs.

His phone number in Australia is (+61-2) 9351 4289 and his email address is ragh@aeromech.usyd.edu.au. This person listed on the faculty webpage http://www.aeromech.usyd.edu.au/staff/ragh.html is likely the same person as the co-author of the examples book, because his field is listed as Computational Fluid Dynamics. I think it is worth a try.

Good luck
