how to initialize DNS

Hi everybody, I'm a beginner in CFD! I'm doing DNS of open channel and I would like to ask some referencies on how to initilize the velocity field! Thanx

what type of problem you are solving. So I can tell you what type of method woulde easy to initialize youz problem. |

As I wrote, I have to initialize the whole 3d field and a temperature field in open channel geometry! Hope this will help! Thanx

If your boundary conditions are periodic, you can set up random disturbance to the fields and let the program run for a while. The flow field will develop into the correct turbulence field.
