Hi,

First of all - I am a beginner so any explanation will be welcomed.
I have a model that I want to run a turbulent analysis for.
I calculated the first layer height, and it turned out to be about 1mm.
I am trying to understand - is the "requirement" for first layer a minimum or a maximum (i.e. - if I get 1mm, if Ill mesh with 3 layers of 0.3mm will it be good, or is the minimum should be 1mm and the first layer should be as close as possible to 1mm)?
If I have in the model very thin layers (about 0.5mm) is there a rule of thumb for such cases?
Furhter more - I ran the same model with laminar flow and got very good convegence (and good agreement with the real life test results), but with the turbulent flow (K-epsilon on fluent) I didnt get convergence (I put 3 layers of 0.1mm at the walls), could this be the cause?

Thanks.
