Default How to compute power output using VBM?

I saw this article: http://www.fluent.com/about/news/new...04v13i2/s3.htm in fluent news.

Reading through it, I am curious about how to compute power output using VBM model? It is only an actuator disk. I guess the power generated by the disk is equal to the multiply of volume flow rate and pressure drop across the disk. But the pressure distribution on the disk should be 3d. does it mean the mean pressure used to get the pressure drop? and is it accurate to do this?

any idea appreciated.

thanks.
